Webpages not connecting

Certain webpages are not connecting for me, immediately I get a "Firefox can't find the server at blah blah" message, but, the funny thing is, if I google the page, and click the google link to it, it connects fine, of if I refresh the page a dozen or so times, it eventually connects and does so again if I try later.

Also, on the pages I have working, if they have pictures that are hosted on other sites, most of them aren't showing up.

I think it's either something to do with my DNS, or Firefox's new Phishing feature (where it checks each page with google each time), only I turned off that feature.

Only the pages I've refreshed or googled are connecting, all my other bookmarks are failing!

Thoughts? I'm only slightly understand the DNS stuff, I need an expert! ;)
