I was listening to the news on the radio today and apparently flying from Dublin is a disaster, I was just wondering has anyone flown out from Dublin on christmas eve, and was it total chaos? I was just wondering because Im due to fly out to manchester on christmas eve, there is already a high chance that it isnt going to be plain sailing as I'm flying with ryan"bring your own engine" air!

The problems with flights to/from England at the moment are mainly fog related. I was supposed to fly to England on Wednesday but my flight was cancelled. Rebooked, traipsed all the way up to the airport again on Thursday, and the flight was cancelled again. Since it looks like the fog will persist for another day or two, I've given up personally, and will try again in the New Year.

Flights further afield don't seem to be being affected as much, if at all.

It will be much busier in arrivals. Departures will probably be busy in the early part of Christmas eve but quietens off considerably towards evening as most people are where they intend to be for Christmas.

better be quiet anyway. me bro is a doctor and has to work late xmas eve in glasgow so hes managed to get off early at 7pm, gonna rush home, pick up his bags, get a taaxi, and hope he makes it. if its cancelled he'll be ragin!

The current fog problem is not affecting Glasgow. The majority of cancelled flights out of Glasgow are London flights.

Flew to New York last Christmas eve early in the morning. Airport was like a Sunday morning in July.

Yesterday (Saturday 23rd) at 4.15am the queue for the departures road had nearly reached the main roundabout at the entrance!

They do that every year. :D

(I wouldn't fancy coming off that Lanzarote flight at 00.25 on Christmas morning and depending on public transport/taxi).

Has to be better than being due to fly on the flights that are cancelled
