Does anyone know how to get ROCK HARD tile adhesive/grout off a bath?

my boyfriend did some tiling in the bathroom recently, but now there is loads of dried in adhesive/grout in the bath - we have tried soaking it in water etc, but its just not moving.....

    can anyone help?? PLEASE!!

best use a piece of plastic - like an ice scrapper or an old toothbrush (with head broken off)

the hardened peices should just come off in one piece.
