Hey, I think my valve could be gone/going. Was playing yesterday (Ibanez->GT-6 (Mesa Red + EQ for filth distortion setting) -> Marshall VS102-r 2x12 (clean channel volume on two)) and the volume started spiking up and giving mad shreiking feedback and pops and squeeks. The clean channel light clicked off and on a few times too. Afraid to turn it on again as my ears are fairly sore from the noise.
Is this terminal or just the cold?
Is it easy get and replkace an ECC83 (?) preamp valve?

Yeah, you can walk into guitar shop and ask for one. The valve in a VS does practically nothing, so don't be too worried about the brand. I wouldn't be too surprised if the amp still worked with the valve out.

What you describe does sound a bit like a microphonic valve, but I'm not entirely sure that's the problem tbh. The channel switching shouldn't be going crazy if the valve is the only problem.

Don't take this the wrong way, but I think your money would be better saved for a better amp than spent repairing that one.
