    Thanks basquille.

Gonna start watching Dexter after reviews on boards. Any other suggestions for top US tv?

Dexter and Heroes are the two best new shows this year.. won't find much better than them.

Criminal Minds is excellent also, and It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia is worth checking if you haven't done so already.

Just started watching Dexter myself, it's fantastic, very creepy.

What's IASIP like? I downloaded the free 'look why this show is great' thing from iTunes but I still didnt know what to make of it...

Tis brillant.. absolutely hilarious and very consistent for the first two seasons (in fact, the second is typically regarded as being the better of the two).

    Some more recommendations here!

I second basquilles recommendations for IASIP, Dexter and Criminal Minds (the latter has been extremely strong this season).

A mini series called The Lost Room (on last week on the SciFi channel - don't let that put you off!) was excellent too.

A brother and sister and their two friends own an Irish bar and from this the stories arise. What's great is that they're incredibly self absorbed and would screw each other over to get what they want (in a funny way). They're kinda horrible people but it's the lengths they go to that can be fun.

Particular standout is Charlie - therre's just somethnig about the actor's physical performance that sells the role (and his voice). The closest thing I can think of is "Curb Your Enthusiasm" but that's not really selling the show correctly.

Where did you get this date? The latest I heard, about last week, has it placed mid-April with the delay put down to Gandolfini's recent leg injury.

Also, I'm just on 1x05 of "Criminal Minds". Definetely liking it so far but is this a show that's only going to get better or have I got a fair idea of the average quality already?

Ooohhh.. will get it tonight. Really enjoyed 'Eureka' this year so my opinion of Sci-Fi channel is improving.

The moment with Charlie on steroids getting angrier eating food while chatting to Dennis and Mac last season was a definite sell in terms of comedic ability. (if you can remember that particular scene)

Apparently.. i read it on TV.com forums. It's apparently a date that the very reliable TheFutonCritic.com quoted, but can't be sure of it's reliability.

Well, i finished the first season there earlier this week. While the season as a whole is fantastic, it's got it's share of ups and downs. Am starting on what is apparently a fantastic second season (so far) over the weekend.

Here's an article dated from the 13th about an April start [link]:
"Sopranos" fans can set their countdown clocks now: HBO has set at least an approximate premiere date for the show's final episodes.

A little note on the show's homepage at HBO.com says "'The Sopranos' final season starts in April." That's not a lot to go on, but given the sometimes huge gaps between seasons (21 months between seasons five and six, for example), the semi-firm commitment from the network should be something of a relief.

HBO had originally planned for the final "Sopranos" arc to debut next month. However, HBO chief Chris Albrecht told TV critics last summer that the show's filming schedule, and thus the premiere date, had to be pushed back after series star James Gandolfini had knee surgery.

"Then we looked at the fact that we would be launching sort of in the middle of the [NFL] playoffs and the Super Bowl and all that stuff, and it seemed that for everybody's sake we would push back a few weeks," Albrecht said then.

"Rome" got the January premiere date instead; its second season debuts Sunday, Jan. 14. HBO also says it will re-air season six of "The Sopranos" beginning in mid-January (episodes are available on demand now). Assuming the network will want to air all 12 episodes before the new season begins, the final season of "The Sopranos" likely would premiere in mid-April.

While it's annoying that the Sopranos is moved back to April, I think we should all be happy that Rome is at least back next
month. Simply amazing show, first season was one of the best television series I've ever seen.
