irish broadband - free upgrage

    Got an email from them about this upgrade yesterday.

    " As a Breeze 1Mb 48:1 customer you have now been upgraded to a 2Mb 24:1 product which will increase your broadband speed to a maximum 2Mb download & 2Mb upload and all for no extra cost. "

    Great news.

    I still have 1mb. So hopefully i get the upgrade soon.

    Just wondering has anybody got the 2mb yet ?

    everyone on 1mb is being upgrded to 2mb and everyone on 2mb is being upgraded to 3mb. They started this a few months back.. im now happily on 3mb although some people are still waiting.. they seem to be doing it mast by mast so your turn will come eventually.

    Lads,

    Just thought I'd mention, I was on the 2mb Breeze and was waiting patiently for the upgrade to 3mb. So after a while I sent them an email to wondering when this would happen. They replied back within a day saying they were really sorry but someone had forgotten to update my setting and hey presto ... 3mb !

    All working great now. If your waitng it might not be any harm to give them a shout directly to see what the story is.

    they shouldnt be udgrading speeds........they should be expanding their network range

    I seem to be upgraded (Irishisptest.com reports up to 2.7 Mb/S), however, I have never gotten over 1.7 Mb/S upload. Thought the upgrade was symmetrical:confused:

    Ah well, since I D/L mostly, can't really complain, ~ 1.7 Mb/S is good enough for now.

    Just did a speedtest, am upgraded to 2mb & have 1.94mb down & 1.94mb up, quality of service 99%.

    i'm on 2mb 24:1 and I've been waiting for over a month for my upgraded, its always "the end of this week, etc". then some guys came out last week as my signal was poor they said. Ever since then my service is crap. downloads are fine (bursting?) but site to site surfing is brutal. thinking of changing to eircom/esat as I want to use VOIP next year.
