Just thought I'd make a post from my Wii browser! Seems pretty good so far, and not too slow either!
Now, off to youtube and wiicade with me!!!

Its fantastic! Youtube works a treat as does all the sites I normaly frequent. It also has a type of predictive text for inputting text.

/me strokes my wii. it's worth the wait i suppose you'll get it on christmas day. zelda is amazing and wiisports is hilarious especially when you've had a few and with some mates.

Yeah using the wiimote to browse the web is fantastic! True ya can't enter text as quick as if you were typing, but its a pretty good interface, and i'm finding myself typing much quicker with it now than I was!

Pretty impressive so far. Most sites work class. (including youtube)

Now off to try http://www.ebuddy.com. Which is an instant messenger for anyone who don't know.

Right so the only snag I came across (before I left for work) was when I went to the official Liverpool FC website and tried to play some of the video content there. To that do that requires Flash and I was brought to the adobe website where I could choose from one of the recommended players. There was an option for Opera but it was only in .zip or .dmg (I think) format. I figured .zip wouldn't work and I then had to leave for work anyway. When you go to that page from a PC it just gives you the download link which save an .exe to your machine. Anyone else get it to work or is Flash not supported in the Beta version of the browser*?

I'm in the States and the update hasn't come through yet.
Maybe it'll kick in after midnight.
I'm going to leave my Wii on for the next 20 minutes and see if it comes down.

Watching Youtube videos on tv should be good for a laugh.

I was looking in the wrong place. It was in the shopping channel. It works really well. The predictive text is definitely a good thing.

Yeah it is, although I was thinking it would be great if they made a bluetooth blackberry-sized QWERTY keyboard for it.

I'm sure they'll come out with something like that.
It makes total sense.
I would love if they came out with some kind of media centre, to allow people to stream content.

Youtube works really well.
Especially when you put the video fullscreen.

I've only got a standard tv, how does the browser look on widescreen or HD for that matter?

I don't think i've been this excited about a console since i saw Sonic on the Megadrive in the window of Peats, when they used to have a shop on the main street in Blackrock.

I've got a 36" widescreen CRT and it looks fine to me. As I've said before, I fecking love this console and the likes of the browser and forecast channel only makes me love it even more:D

I noticed the blight light glowing on the machine in my hungover state as i was rushing out the door for work this morning alright. I can't wait to get home and have a go at Youtube on the TV. Best news ever.

Been using it for a while now. When I was reading a mail on gmail, I hit the back button an my console locked up. then remote wouldn't respond and I had to hold the power button on the console for a few seconds to shut off. Probably because of the active content in gmail.

Webpages appear surprisingly fast on the Wii unlike the browser on my psp which always runs out of memory. Using the Wiimote is also very intuitive. Casual browsing on your TV couch like now without the need to turn on your PC is great : )

Agreed with PSP memory sucks. Man its soooo cool, I was on Youtube watching all types last night. Freakin rocks.

Never really was a big user of youtube but this might make me start.
I am a bit skeptical of the fact that there is no cookie control...
So basically Nintendo know exactly what we are all browsing.
Other than that all I really can ask for to improve this is a smallish bluetooth keyboard to go with it.

Another thing I don't like is how far away you are from the page at default Zoom, and how close you are to the page when you zoom in the one and only time possible.Just a bit of un-needed hassle to be honest.

Sounds great, can't wait to try this out, finally got my pre ordered Wii in Game yesterday. Played some drunken Wii sports last night, good times! Youtube on the TV, awesome!

yea the zoom feature is a bit of a hassle but im sure they will get it sorted with a patch soon enough. i still love the novelty of browsing on wii those

Roll on March.Nintendo should do a user survey for improving the final release of the browser.

I'm having no luck with mine... It won't go to any pages beyond the first one. I've tried many different addresses, and the favourites as well and nothing. The shop and weather channel work perfectly. We have our in house nerd looking into it.

THIS is brilliant I thought my screen would be all blured untill i found the zoom option i might try net play on madden now which also works with the weather channel

I don't really think I'll be using the browser on the Wii all that much to be honest.It's faster and better on my PC and I don't have to browse in silence either, I can have music playing as well as doing a thousand other things.
Maybe when the final release is here I'll re-consider.

whee. finally got it downloaded. my wii locked up going to the shop channel yesterday. and it took 4 attempts to download today. the predictive text needs some work and they badly need 'backspace' mapped to the B button. in fact more button mappings all round would be great. and a multi-stage zoom.
