Opinions on a workout?

    Hey, I was just wondering if I could get some opinions on a workout routine that myself and a few friends threw together.
    Basic way it works is this: Sprint till you're breathing heavy, then drop and do push ups till you you catch your breath, soon as you do, up and sprint again, when you start breathing heavy this time, drop and sit ups, soon as you catch breath up and sprint again etc etc
    You get the basic idea, going through different body weight exercises like sit-ups, squats and push ups. The way its meant to work is that since it will take longer to catch your breath each time, it will increase the size of the sets of exercises each time, and seems like a good way of getting your body worked out.
    I was just wondering, is this a good line of thought to go down, or should I scrap the idea?
    Anyone see any pros or cons, or is it just a waste of time?
    As I said, we were just sorta tossing ideas around and I wanted to get some feedback on them, or advice on how to improve them.

    Sounds good but, well there's better out there. Check out ross boxing or crossfit for some interesting vomit inducing routines.

    Oh I didn't figure it was anything major, as I said, was just tossing round ideas. I've been on Crossfit, and like alot of their stuff, but don't have enough weight training gear for some of it. Haven't been on ross-boxing before, so I'll check it out. Thanks.

    Yeah I'm the same with crossfit but theres a lot of bodyweight stuff on there worth doing.

    Try football pitch sprints for cardio- painful. Sprint the length and jog the width to exhaustion- ouch. If it were me I'd split the sprints and the bodyweight exercises but thats just me.

    I just prefer to keep sprinting for sprinting. I do other cardio routines that involve push ups etc. but I like to keep my sprinting on its own as its among the most demanding things I do and I like to give it 100% of my effort. I think that I get more benefit out of it that way. Maybe others mix it in I dunno.

    just sounds a wee bit subjective the whole run til you're breathing heavy.

    for these type of things i like to work by a clock. However, I reckon you give it a couple of weeks see how it feels. training is always >>>> talking about training

    sprinting is highly anaerobic so sprinting till breathing heavy is a good way of increasing heart rate recovery from peak levels-jogging is aerobic so this is not necessary!!

    What's the aim of the workout? We can't really judge how effective it is until we get the aim
