just gone...all in with AK v. AQ....he rivered a fuc king queen...unreal... I had to bubble! would have been clear chip[ leader....the pain.....feel physically sick........he done me twice.............

phantom..as soon as I got AKds in BB i had a bad feeling...sb ( Mickster from KIldare ) was trying to rob all the time. he bet 3.6k as soon as he called by reriased allin I had a bad feeling. When he showed AQ I was shouting no queen, no queen, at thye screen......then on the river Queen of spades.....sometimes I hate this game so much!:mad: :mad: :mad:

Unlucky Ace Face, however your plan of calling no queen no queen from the outset was flawed.

You have to call for a card that isnt a queen, ie. four of clubs four of clubs, its guarenteed to work all of the time most of the time.

Trust me.....

Question:

Should I have folded here to avoid a race, ensure I make the money? Was it an unnecessary move allin? I honestly thought he was "at it" due to past performance.

AK get's dogged, film at 11.

It will happen you many times more but each time you gotta push.

Happened me in the big slick 200 tourny a couple of months ago when down to 30, (the one Tom did well in.. long drive home (:-() Guy panicked as he had only 30 or so big blinds left and called my all in (AK) with AQ for 90% of his stack. Q hits ..but still I'll make the same move every time With AK. (would never call it though with AQ unless shorthanded or stacked)

Just forget about that one and move on, if you saw his hand before he called, you'd have been begging for him to call, always think what you would have thought/wanted at the Start of the hand, not the end of it. (A little tip that I find helps get over this kind of thing).

I understand the call here ( thats why I made it! ) however, my issue is that I could have been up against 22-QQ making it a 50/50 play or any random 2 cards making me 60/40 fav.

The fact he had AQ was lucky for me ( irony! ), my qusetion is should I not have waited to try and make money and a better opportunity rather than gamble with AK. The more I think about it I should have folded.......am I losing my agression now from 2 many bad beats:rolleyes:

Ray, your only asking this question because your on tilt, your 100% glad to get the money in here preflop against Aq, just the poker gods went against you, but 9/10 times you'll win here, the hand played its self out, you have to reraise to protect your blind against a aggressive button player, your just unlucky that he had a hand this time he couldn't laydown.

Stop doubting yourself here, it was the correct play and quit playing for a few days to get it out of your system, or play me heads up for a few bob...lol.

I got bust in the 60K on Ladbrokes on Tueday night in a similiar fashion, button raise with AQ I reraise allin with KK, at this stage I was a big cl with 27 players left and a very good chance of final table and winning, he river a Ace. Next hand, AQ v's JJ, JJ holds up and than shortstack I ran AQ into A9 and he river a 9, did nothing wrong, win 1k instead of 20k which I felt I had earned and should have won, but I know if I keep playing correctly I win more times than I'll miss.

You're pretty much the shortstack at the table. You have 9k and the blinds are 600/1200. You have AK Vs a pretty wide range. 100% it was the correct push, there is no waiting around.
You also seem to be forgetting any sort of folding equity too... he was never going to fold AQ, but he may have folded some other hands in his range.
