Does this mean that Stargate SG-1 could turn into a film series like Star Trek TOS???

Also will this see a continuation of the ori storyline or could they become stand alone films???

It only takes 4 months to film all 20 episodes (thats 17 + hours of footage) for a season of stargate.

They arent real films per chance, but really just extended episodes tbh.

I thought it was four months for 10 episodes?

Realistically they are just extended episodes yeah, but if you really think about it, so were all the Star Trek films based on the original series.

Still, its sad to see the series go :( but then it sounds kinda dated to say 'Season 11 Premiere!' (leers over at The Simpsons...)

Nope, atleast he hasn't signed on for the first one, which is all that is confirmed so far.

Thats completely different. Not only were film screenplay writers brought in, but the budget was extended far beyond what the series had.

In retrospect the Stargate "films" are being written by TV writers and are on a similar budget to what they would have for a handful of episodes.

    They were also cinematic releases.
    The Stargate movies won't be.

And I was talking purely about the plots and stories.
