I read a website recently that advised

'if you're going to bet in PLO, you may as well bet the pot'

What do people think of this?

Well, this is fairly obvious, but it disguises any tells that players may get from your betting patterns. I tend to bet the pot pretty much all the time, I'll occassionally throw in a half pot value bet here and there but I try to mix this up a bit with bluffs also so it's not to obvious. I'm no expert though! Roundtower should reply to this in a while with a decent answer for you.

    meh
officially this is rubbish especially when river betting
Current Pot size and stack depth and number of players needs to come into play

that said the majority of people play PLo very shallow and the majority of times the correct bet is a pot bet in that case
So you wont go a million miles wrong following this advice

I would say the other way round. Live I bet the pot quite a lot, largely because I usually have a good hand and would like to play a big pot. Online games are very shallow, so you much more often have to consider stack sizes, and how much you should leave behind for betting on a later street.

As said you won't go too far wrong betting the pot all the time, but you can do even better by varying your bet sizes.
