Wii's Available Tomorrow in Smyths

Have checked the Smyths website (which they updated today) and the expected delivery date for more Wii's is tomorrow. (for all stores) http://www.toys.ie/product_search.jsp?&div=&cat=&subcat=&search_term=wii&catl=&age_list=0

As everyone on boards who has been searching for Wii's in the last few weeks will know, many Smyths' staff rarely tell the truth regarding expected deliverys (for whatever reason) so even if you ask the staff today they may not acknowledge the delivery... It's evident also that over the past few weeks Friday has been the day Smyths receive their deliveries and I'd prefer to take my changes with info from the website.

So to cut a medium sized story short, I will be queueing outside Smyths Galway early tomorrow morning in the hope that a Wii will be mine. The only question is from what time and seeing as the Office Christmas party is tonight, will i get any sleep at all

Where does it say it'll be available tomorrow? I clicked on the Wii and it says next delivery is 5th Jan

The bad news is they seem to have been selling them off at 6pm this evening.

you're right - I rang them today at 2:30 (henry st limerick store) and they said to get in as quickly as I could if I really wanted one, they were being sold at 6 and there were already a few people hanging around..
Game also got another delivery in today so I got mine there without having to queue, it was bundled with 2 extra games of your choice for 389.. at that stage I got one of the last 5/6, and there were 3 of us in the queue with them..

I signed up for their text service letting me know when they were next getting Wiis in Drogheda. Surprise, surprise I got a message this morning with the details (small quantities, only available after 6 today). Needless to say I was into Drogheda like a hot snot the first chance I got.

Left there about 5:10 (more on that below) with nary a person waiting for one.

Luckily, I was taking no chances and also informed my brother, that he might also queue up in the Galway Smyths. Got a call about five past five where he tells me he has it. Sorted.

Also, don't always trust the website. According to it they're taking pre-orders for the January stock, checked in Drogheda yesterday and they'll only be taking orders in January (first week). One of the guys working there (seemed to know the most) informed me that the website has a habit of getting the information wrong.

walked into game in tallaght today and picked one up , complete chance said they had more left aswell. thats the second time this week ive gotten one there. give them a call and see if theres any left.

Got a text from Smyths this mornin bout 9. Workin in Maplin on childers rd. so i left work at ten to 6 and wandered down to Smyths. 5 people in front of me. They had 10 to sell as far as i know! Well happy
Nice service from smyths!

Still havent played it yet as my girlfriend promptly confinscated it!:rolleyes:

i can understand , ppl have been getting all kinds a stories from lots of different ppl, ive been very luck and managed to get 3 so far in total, just pure luck really , the first was mine that i had pre booked, and the other two were sheer luck and ive been passing them on to friends and family and anyone else going bonkers trying to get one.

there is a slim chance i may get another on saturday, if i do i will be posting on boards for anyone who may still be trying to get one.

Was in Smyths on Jervics street before six and apparently they sold their remainder earlier on that day, it seems they differ from store to store.

Got mine in Smyths Blanchardstown today an 6pm on the dot. Was queueing from about three o'clock just to be sure :eek: There was still room in the queue at about 5:45 It was worth the wait. :cool:

Sign up to the smyths text service. They text me a 9 this morning with all the details. Apparentlery they sent out 240 texts!!!

3 left as of 11pm in Smyths Galway. Hope this helps someone. Was tempted to get it; 270 with a sports game, and 370 with a choice of 2 games, and something else...
Be in early if u want to get one!

Hey all - got a Wii in Smyths Galway today - just as a precaution in case they started selling them today I headed in for a status update (4.30) and was told they were going on sale at 6.

Hung around for a 1/2 hour then started a queue and by 5.10 there were about 10 ppl in it. At this stage I guess Smyths realised there were going to be a lot of ppl waiting so they started selling them at 5.15, which was nice.

On the way home, stopped in Game and they appeared tp be selling Wii's as well so hopefully there should be enough to go around this Xmas. Good luck to everyone who hasn't got one yet - make sure you queue early in the morning!!!

Oh and THANK GOD FOR BOARDS.IE & MERRY XMAS TO ALL!

I got my Wii, i got my Wii - smyths in waterford only had 16 available yesterday and it was first come first served - no pre orders.
