I'm not involved in martial arts but just saw a short documentary on Bruce Lee and found his life story very interesting. Definitely an inspirational figure. Any good books on him or films which I should see?

    This is the thing...

What Bruce Lee did in movies... all that flashy kung fu stuff...and what he created in real life...his fighting system jeet kune do, are 2 very different things. he said so himself, movies was all showmanship.

google Bruce Lee Jeet Kune Do and you will find out alot about him and the real contribution he had on MA.

For example he was on of the first to train Full Contact Sparring, cross train in other styles etc etc..

if you want to see what he was doing techqniue wise in mid 60s you can buy Bruce Lee Fighting Methods Vol 1 - 4 which has plenty of photos, also the Tao of Jeet Kune Do by Bruce Lee is interesting.

And then of course many Bios available on his life both inside and outside MA world.

There are plenty of box sets available in the run up to xmas in the shops. You might get some where you can watch his movies - which are entertaining! And also one's of him being interviewed or training in the early days of JKD.
