Trouble Penetrator

After toturing myself for 3hours (it was nowhere near this long, just seemed that way) at this bands gig at the Cork Jazz Festival. I was wondering what other people's opinions were on this band. It brings up an interesting argument over whether pretentious, tuneless, passionless, farcically boring bands should be given the time of the day and what exactly do people find appealing in what can only be described as instrument masturbation?
    Opinions please.

First off, why "torture" yourself ? The Cork Jazz Festival has a large selection of music. Why did n't you just walk out and go somewhere else ? Secondly, just because you did n't like it does not mean it's "farcically boring". This is a very narrow minded attitude IMO. While not hugely popular in Ireland this type of music is very well received in the rest of western Europe. The old saying -"one man's meat is another man's poison" comes to mind here.:)

    HAHAHAAHAH.

Oh Dreamer sounds like you really suffered through that gig.

Personally I couldn't keep my eyes off the players, I found the entire performance fascinating. Certainly it was very strange, but I found the play between the 5 of the band fascinating to watch and listen to.

Shame for you if you didn't like it, just means MORE for MOI.

    John

Tbh I loved that gig, and I'd sit through it again. Wonderfully atmospheric, relaxing, an incredible musical placebo. :)

As Rigsby said, why would you have tortured yourself? Yes, their music was unusual and at times a bit challenging, but it was probably the most original gig I've ever been to. To call it 'tuneless' or 'pretentious' is just downright ignorant tbh. What were they pretending to be, if anything, exactly? Glad to see others have supported the band too

And by the way, 'instrument masturbation'? Now that's just over the top...
