    Hi Guys

I have gotten MCE up and running with NTL Digital (thanks!), I went to set up the EPG and it asked me for postocde so I tried each of the following Dublin, Dub, Ireland, D12 & 12 but none of them worked. I then had a look thru some previous threads and used the method of putting country as UK and used the BT61 post code, this worked to a degree but is missing a whole load of channels such as TV3, E4, ABC1, Sky 2 etc.

My question is, is it possible to get it working using Ireland as the country? And will it get me all the channels, I seen on a another thread about downloading some software but it looked a bit complicated.:o

    Any help would be great!!!

Basicly I followed the following instructions from an earlier thread...only problem is you have to go thru all the channels in the guide and change the numbers to correspond to what they are here in Ireland, also need to add some channels but as I said it does not have guides for a good load of channels.

You can get fully integrated EPG from XPMCE on NTL Dublin. For analogue, rerun the TV setup, tell it you're in the U.K. , on "Cable or Digital Cable", and give it a Belfast post code BT61 7QZ (don't just give it any code), and when it asks what type of service, select Cable line-up for the UK . This will download all EPG data for about 245 channels (everything from Adult Channel to Zee TV, except for TV3 and TNaG). Then it will scan the analogue service to see what channels it finds. Once that's done, you need to assign Guide listings to each channel, i.e. tell it that BBC1 is to be associated with the EPG data for "BBC1 Northern Ireland", and so on for the rest of your channels. If you have a dual-tuner card (or two single-tuner cards), you can watch-one-record-another (or record two at the same time).

If you're an NTL digital person, do the same as above except tell it you have a set top box. Also the MCPC doesn't scan for channels. You have to match the three-digit ntl channel number to the Guide data in a similar fashion to the above.

Anyway, the point is that you can get full guide/EPG data from XPMCE without having to resort to any third-party XML based solutions.

You need MCE rollup 2. Forget about the information above as its over a year out of date.

Be sure to run windows update and install optional updates as needed also.

After you have done this, restart MCE setup. You will be able to specify your city (Dublin) and your service (NTL Digital Cable).

    BRILLIANT!!!

Got it sorted now, I spent most of yesterday updating and getting fixed. One problem I found was that it would not play Divx (avi) files after the roll up but installed Divex player (I used to use VLC) and it is playing them now! Will never watch TV without my MCE again!

Thanks again!! Might even think of getting second STB to record while watching other channels.....project for the new year.

    Glad you got sorted!

Divx wise, playing should not be an issue as long as you have a recent build of the codec (as opposed to the player as it has no influence on how MCE plays video) it should be fine. The only problem is that you cannot ff or rw with Divx through the MCE interface, however it should be fine in Media Player.
