Any decent new WW II games any one recommend? Looking for something to waste time on over christmas.... Last WW II realistic game I played was CMBO. Bad graphics by todays standards but I enjoyed at the time.
Anybody know of anything to that standard in the piplines?
The Blitzkreig types are not really worth the disks they're on for realism....

I found Company of Heroes to be good, and it looks absolutely fantastic ....

    What's CMBO?

Anyway the most recent and most excellent WWII game which most people would recommend would be Company of Heroes.

I'm sure there's a thread here about it.

Another one which came out back in 2004 that I'd recommend is Soldiers: Heroes of World War II

Edit: Drats. Took too long to type.

Ok I'll give that a look. cmbo was/is combat mission :beyond overlord. It was followed up by two additional expansions of the russian front and the african campaign. Its really quite old now but from a WW II strategy game it was really quite good.
    Thanks anyhow guys

The Close Combat series just got picked up again, I'll have a serious look at that when it comes out.

    Would second Close Combat series.

Specifically Close Combat 2 and 3 as they are by far the best games in the series.

Both can be found on budget. Both are fairly old games with crap gfx but have fantastic game play and tactical depth.

(Close Combat 2 is now on abandonware, just download it here LEGALLY for free, 98MB download. Just tested it and it works perfectly under win XP)

Def give CC2 a go, it's free and it's by far one of the best tactical war games ever made.
