I haven't been playing much cash lately.... some of this is due to time constraints, but mostly due to some of the threads/posts here.

I do believe I have strong attributes too my game, but I also realize that I am missing a considerable amount. I lack a lot of basic skills.

It's not so much that I am losing money or anything, but it is hampering the profit I could/should be making. It also makes a large amount of decisions more difficult.
I jumped levels so quickly that I lost out in about 1/2 years of the learning process. It's like skipping out secondary school and going from primary to 3rd level.

What I want to do is get through this process without putting in the 1/2 years at .50/1 etc etc. I just don't have the time or patience for it. the money wouldn't mean enough - I play badly when the money doesn't mean anything too me. That may be a major leak in itself, but its one I haven't managed to plug.

The point is, I recently started to go back through poker tracker to try and find those leaks. I am going to try and document the aspects of my game that lose me the most money. (as well as those that make me the most money)
I could see straight away a lot of places that were losing me money, with the biggest been oop. I just play waaaay too many hands out of position. My pre flop aggression is too weak, and my flop aggression may be a bit too strong.

So what I am questioning is how much can actually be gleamed from the PT stats? and can ye guide me through the process :D And what sort of sample size would be necessary for any real gain? What are the stats that I should be aiming for?

The sample size may be a problem as I lost my PT database at the beginning of last summer. The only hands I have are over the last 6 months, and realistically I haven't been playing that much poker. I have just over 10,000 hands.

I am hoping that some of the knowledgeable players here would be willing to view my stats and try and pick out what’s good (if any) and what’s bad.

I am posting these up free for all to see as I am going to change my handle on all sites soon. Too many people know me at this stage all ready…. Especially on tribeca :D

    So, here goes:

    General Stats:
    myStats.JPG

    Positional Stats:
    posStats.JPG

    Top Hand Stats:
    HandStats.JPG

Thats some exceptional winrate for AA..... lol, who woulda thought it.

    Worst Hand Stats
    HandStatsLow.JPG

I can see most of the faults..... but I think getting others to point them out may be more advantageous. It will also probably be the case that ye will spot things I won't.

I also have the full detailed stats saved as a pdf, if someone feels like looking into it a bit more and giving me a proper analysis pm me.

cheers to anyone who makes the effort,
    j

Ste has a link to an excellent piece on 2+2 about PT. As for your stats, your dataset is tiny and doesnt really show much to be honest.

These don't show much apart from the fact you are playing way way way way way way too loose from the SB. And I mean way too loose.

ya, that is something I had identified and have been dealing with lately. I was also doing the same in tournaments. I have started folding much more from the sb and will try and improve on it more.
What sort of % should you be aiming for?

What's the story with having 107s as your 2nd biggest losing hand?

okay, its small, but 10000 hands is still 10000 hands. I realise someone can't tell if you're a winning player or not from this small subset, but noting mistakes should still be possible shouldnt it?

Fair enough if that is not the case.

Also, Ste, could you post up that link again?

hmmmm, why is it more surprising than any other? What would you expect to see there?

I guess thats why the small subset is a problem, especially since it goes across levels.
The 107s loss came mostly from one hand at the 10/20 level where I put my chips in on an 89J flop. I had a straight and also had a flush draw. I was called by a higher flush draw. the flush draw hit.

Collating stats from various levels in to one collective database will not give an accurate nor transparent view of your results for analysis to plug leaks.

Eg. AKs wins 78% according to PT, yet you have a net loss. Obviously losing one big hand at the 20/40 level will negate all previous positive results form the 1/2 level and therefore give an inaccurate picture of how you are playing.

Also, as you move up levels the game gets tougher and you need to adapt and play accordingly. This will give different stats for each level. To get an accurate analysis I think you should take each level independently. However, I think you dont have enough of a sample size at most levels to give a long term reflection of your results. IMO

okay... fair enough. I knew the hand analysis wouldn't do any good due to the varying levels for the exact reason you just covered. I only posted those up as well to show the kind of % of different hands I play. But even that is inaccurate due to the same.

What I was mostly looking at was the main stats, and my positional stats etc. plus with the the further detail there is lots of information which I am slightly unsure how to interpret it.
