I heard that these things were illegal (something to do with laws from the pirate radio days of broadcasting your own fm frequency i think). But let me know if you find one.

can sell you one for 20 quid Jumpa...Just bought it in ALDI 3 weeks ago. But if its for a Crimbo pressy online is your best bet.Theres a thread on Creative Zens in the media players forum, somewhere in the middle of that there is a post bout a cheap universal transmitter. Cant be arsed lookin for it for ya!

Enjoy your breakfast, and eat up your cornflakes

Ah its too risky, might miss XMAS with the delivery. Has to bricks and mortar. 25eur in HMV sounds good.

theres a goods store near Red Cow roundabout(was there last week). Got one for a mate for 13 euros. Working perfectly. Only prob is you'd need an account number to get into the shop. Cant think of the name of it...leave it with me

Are the St. D's ones generic FM transmitters or iPod specific?

Picked one up in Kilkenny this morning for 20eur.

Most of the smaller types simply connect to the earphone socket so they will work with any device, even cd players and an old walkman if you still have it!

I have one for my car and it is specific to Ipods however.

Just to add to the thing. I picked up a generic FM Transmitter from Lidl nearly a month ago now for €20 it had the cigar lighter and room for two AAA batteries if for instance your car had now power source etc.

It works off the Headphone output but other types can be got which are Ipod compliant only that works off the Ipod USB input and charges the ipod simultaneously. Argos have a a generic FM Transmitter for €150
