Irish Examiner archives?

Does anyone know if there's a full archive of the Irish Examiner online? The one on its own website seems to be very incomplete - it's missing entire years. It doesn't seem to be in LexisNexis either.

I'm just trying to track down a couple of articles from earlier this year - didn't think it would be this difficult...

It should have all the files for earlier this year. I was bowsing throught them earlier.

It's search function is a mess though. I can rarely find what I want.

What I normally do is pick a phrase I know is in the article I want like Pat Rabbitte or Bord na gCon. Put them in quote marks and use google instead.

So your search query would look something like this.

    "bord na gcon" site:archives.tcm.ie

It returns a managable amount of results and you get to read the first paragraph of each article.

http://archives.tcm.ie/irishexaminer/ just has from 1998-2005, but if you go to the following - http://archives.tcm.ie/date/1_2006.asp - You'll get a calendar for 2006 (with IE being the Examiner). Change it to 2_2006.asp, 3_2006.asp etc. for the proceeding months.
It does mean you'll have to go through them manually, but if you know when the articles appeared this is probably the best route.
Otherwise use google search the way Barney suggests.

    Thanks for the tips.

Maybe it was the lateness of the hour, but when I was searching the tcm archives last night it kept jumping from mid-2000 to November 2006 - v bizarre. It's working fine now.

The search function really is a joke though; I'm doing a project for college (MA in Journalism in DCU) so want to find specific references over a specific timeframe. However you can only search either by date or by keyword - ridiculous (although still not as bad as the Unison site, but still...)

And thanks for the info about using Google to search the site - wouldn't have thought of that so appreciate it.
