An example of why people are put off using ebay..

    www.stephenbishop.net

    I am so angry.

I'm tempted to set up some kind of "islandonlinesuck.com" site or am i going overboard?

The feedback you left for island-online is removeable as you put a URL in it. If island-online reports it to eBay, they will remove it:

Why not open a dispute with paypal and get them to refund your money directly. They will refund if the seller can't prove he posted the item or that it was delivered.

Just look at that guys negative feedback and you'll see it's pretty much all the same as yours. Stuff doesn't arrive and he doesn't respond well to emails. All his replies say the same thing too 'we send out every item and answer every email', but that's not very useful if he hasn't actually sent the item.

There are lots of users on eBay just like him. So many positive feed-backs that the negative ones just get swallowed up. But the negatives tend to all be the same. Sellers like this are simply too busy with new orders to follow up on the ones that go missing and they shouldn't be allowed to continue, but eBay don't care as they're making a fortune out of the listings. This is one of the reasons I rarely use eBay.
