I live in Amsterdam and it's a very safe (and beautiful) city. Like anywhere else, you need to take care and stay away from any dodgy areas (like the red light district where a lot of drug dealing happens), but otherwise you should have no problems, just a good time!

Not an unsafe city by any means and not all about drinking, drugs and prostitutes. Would recommend it.

Was there by chance this summer....... Thought it was a really cool place, very unique, pretty much a must see if you ask me!!! Everyone speaks English to so you can't go wrong!!

If you get a chance, The Heineken Brewery is a great laugh and cheap 2:cool: ... think was only a 10er...

    Enjoy

Was there for a weekend. Great city, very relaxed and enjoyable visit.
Well worth a visit and I will be going back.:)

I was there last year with a gang of friends, for a weekend. We walked around the red light district, no bother. I felt alot safer there than I have walking around some of our Irish cities at night time.
