    Hey,

I lived in Edinburgh for 3 & half years. You'll have a brilliant time! The whole party is out on the street but as far as I can remember it starts emptying after the fireworks at 12 o clock. The pubs will be packed so I'd reccomend staying knida near one that you can just head into or if you are staying with friends having a party after is a good option. Generally tends to be what the locals do.

There's loads to do in Edinburgh, the german market & outdoor ice rink should still be open they were a must do every year for me. The Royal Mile is gorgeous just to wander up, other must sees are

    The Castle
The camera obscura and world of illusions (Royal Mile up near the castle)
    The Edinburgh Dungeon (Market Street)
Hop On Hop Off bus tour is good (departs from the entrance to Waverley Station)
Do a pub crawl along Rose Street

I'm sure there's loads more that I can't think of right now but I'll post again if I think of them. PM me if you have any other questions and have a fab time, I'm actually so jealous, Edinburgh is my favourite city.
