Shower within freestanding bath

I'm looking at options in our main bathroom (build in progress...
    plumber hasn't installed whiteware yet).

We are opting for a freestanding (clawfoot) bath and the location
of the shower tray drawn on the original plans is a bit cramped
and will mean very little space left over for a wash hand basin.
We have showers in 2 ensuites upstairs and a shower in an
annex room downstairs. I've seen some photos of curtain rail
    frame assemblies for freestanding bathtubs.

    eg:

Does anyone have suggestions on this. Does it look impractical ?
This is more an emergency shower rather than the main showering
room in the house and I'd prefer to claim back some of the space
that the otherwise cramped shower cubicle on the opposite side
of the bathroom (pinched in size due to a hotpress on the other
side of the wall) would have taken up....

I had this problem a few years ago, and the only freestanding curtain rail I could find was gold-plated (I swear) and cost about €3,000, which wasn't really the look I was going for. So I ended up removing spokes and tyre from a bicycle wheel, painting it and suspending it from the ceiling. Nobody seems to have noticed, and it works!

But if you have other showers, perhaps you might just put in a hand-held shower head - migh look more uncluttered?

That set up looks fairly fancy and would probably be more suited to a very large bathroom. Are you sure you need four showers in a house? Are you expecting the local rugby team to visit?

UB's suggestion of a hand held shower head sounds good.

BTW UB, I love the idea of the bicycle wheel, now thats DIY;)
