    Hi,
I have a 00 VW Golf Convertible. In my wisdom bought a Engine fault code reader and hooked it up, thinking that the car is perfect and what could be wrong with it.

It tells me that I have fault 0515 which is a Hall Sender fault. I clear the fault it reappears again and again. Apart from a new distributor what else(cheaper hopefully) can this be?

Is there anywhere other than a stealer to diagnose this problem. The car runs perfectly.

    Thanks in advance

On that engine type the Hall Sender fault will always show once the engine is not running. So you can't clear it - which is why the engine runs perfectly. Check for the fault with the engine running and it should be no longer present.
