Help me remember this old RTE program?

my head is wreaked trying to think of this tv program that used to be on rte tv years ago, maybe 10 years ago, it was about puppets, life size i think and made of brown wool, very fake looking and i think there used to be scary characters, but the main thing i remember was that in the puppets sitting room there was a photo on the wall of two real girls on a beach wearing blue dresses and they used to come alive when the puppets left the room, and one of the girls was played by the actress Claudia Carroll, who then played Nicola in Fair City. Please please read this out today and help me find out what the program was called coz my housemates and boyfriend all thought i was after losing the plot when i was describing it to them last night!! my sister remembers it too thou but neither of us can remember it properly or the name of it. thank you so much!!

I am so so very ashamed of knowing this because the show was truly awful. Anyway, it was called Rimini Riddle.
