I ordered Christmas presents off play.com and a UK ebay seller two weeks ago and they still haven't shown up. I realise play can be slow but this guy said be posted the item from England on the 9th and it still hasn't shown up.

Anyone heard of any delays in An Post?

I'm waiting on stuff sent from Kildare this day last week to arrive, it may have arrived today but haven't checked the post. also have things from cdwow shipped on 11th and 3 moviestar dvd sipped 12th & 14th, that still haven't arrived. I think An Post aren't up to it anymore.

Ive had some parcels come in 5 days, one took two months. An post is a gamble. Unless you have tracking its anyones guess when youll get them.

Just regular airmail was it? Post from the UK has never been very consistent for me.

Yeah, ditto. If you're lucky it'll be a few days. But sometimes it can take weeks for reasons unknown. Neither An Post or Royal Mail are known for their efficiency!

It really is a gamble with post from the UK, I have often received stuff from hong kong before the UK when bought at the same time.

I order off ebay a good bit and from UK it can take anything between 4 days to 4 weeks!

I often send stuff to Dublin and the average time taken is 5 days. I sent a parcel by Royal Mail International signed for yesterday and today the tracking is showing that the parcel is in the hands of An Post, lets see how long it takes to get delivered.

My latest experience with something ordered from the UK is that the package has arrived back at the sender's with just a crytic mark "AS" on it after about a week! Go figure, the local postie knows me well :-) so if it had gotten near him I would have received it ...

The last order I put into play.com was in November and four DVDs were posted on the same day. The first one arrived a week later, which is the usual for me, the other three arrived one at a time over the following two weeks.

How four items posted from the same place at the same time and destined for the same place can get so separated like that is beyond me. I guess some stuff just goes in an overflow box and gets forgotten about.

I order from QVC in the UK a lot and the times things takes vary hugely.
They show a dispatch date on the site and you cannot even chase things until 28 days elapse.

I'm waiting on something from 3rd Dec, I'm hoping it's because it's a large package and the Xmas rush. I have got small items from the UK, Jersey and the US in between!

The customs are screening mail in major sorting offices so that is what is possibly delaying things.

The package i'm waiting on is coming from the UK so that rules out being stopped by customs.

There is a tracking number on it, but the c*nt seller won't give it to me! In fact he wouldn't reply to me until I opened a paypal case against him the other day, when he admitted the package had been lost and the replacement would be with me Thursday (tomorrow). I asked him for the tracking number and he said he'd get back to me that evening with it, but no sign.

So p*ssed off that he would treat me like this when he knows it's a Christmas present. Negative feedback awaits.

im expecting a package that was sent from the UK on the 14th I think (international standard signed parcels they call it) and its past the late posting service for the christmas rush. and i still havent gotten the package, i suspect there is probably a back log with all the post after the whole mess across the UK last week with flights. im pretty pissed since it was present i bought for someone.

My QVC parcel arrived, despite saying dispatched on the 3rd Dec, it came via Parcel Force and only dispatched 20th Dec as per the stickers on it. So slow delivery but not really An Post or QVC's fault! I remember Parcel Force taking a regular bashing on Watchdog on BBC years ago.

Did email An Post re checking for the item and they came back and asked for a tracking number or else they couldn't help. If I'd had a tracking number I could've checked it myself!

And how were they supposed to track it ? They can't ring around all their depots asking if there's a package for 2funki4wheelz !
