you have to buy Wii points for the time being, they still haven't started exchanging star points for Wii points.

According to Nintendo Sweden they are, but no date was given for when you can use the Star Points to buy Wii Points.

Just put all my old star points up, thank god we never throw boxes out in case we sell the game,

Now, can anyone hazard a guess at the exchange rate of Star Points to Wii Points?

Knowing Nintendo it won't be very favourable but **** it at least we get to use the useless things.

Well, they've worked out on the website that it could be 1:1 all things being equal. Recently Nintendo gave away a limited number of copies of Age of Empires II for the DS for 5000 Star points. This game sells for £35 in the UK, so that converts a single Star point to 0.7p (sterling), and that would value 1000 star points at £7 which, coincidently, is what 1000 Wii points cost on the Wii shop. This would mean you'd get a free VC game for every 3-4 Wii games you buy (assuming they are games that give you Star Points and of course depending on how expensive your VC taste is ;) ) which sounds pretty reasonable to me....

That said, you can earn 5 points a day just by going to the site (and have been able to do so since 2002/3... that's a lot of points!), and there are a number of users with 5-15K points who aren't interested in blowing them on Mario Clipart in the Star Shop so they may come up with a slightly more extortionate rate to avoid impacting their potential profits.

Exactly what I was thinking because of AoE2 as well. Here's hoping!!!

I've 11,055 star points myself...
