Pre Flop Raise Hand

Just want some opinions on my preflop raising. I know the general rule of raising 3x the BB and maybe 1xbb for each caller. In the situation below were down to 3 and 1 folds before i act so only 2 people left. I could have easily pushed all in here but i choose to raise instead, that could well be another debate but the current question is about how much i should raise the blind. I know with JJ you dont want to see the flop so you might be looking to raise more than the standard 3x, but if youre going to be doing this too often and your coming up against players on a reasonably regular basis ($20 stt Tribeca) and they are taking notes there going to figure out that a raise over 3x the blind is pocket 99,10,JJ,QQ. Anyone with any 2 cards might be willing to call on the hope of flopping a King or Ace high flop and putting in a nice size raise to knock me off my hand.

What do you do in this situation. I could mix things up and raise 4-5x sometimes with AA,AK,AQ to throw them off. Will they see enough showdowns to know the difference and am i been paranoid. i like raising every hand the same 3x +maybe 1x per caller so people taking notes will find it hard to put me on a hand.

Lastly could i have check/called or check/folded here instead of leading?
