It could be the ds extreme, lovely piece of kit, there have been a few threads about it on boards. I think any sort of passme device would work just aswell, but for hassle free playing of homebrew, the extreme is pretty damned good.

There's also the M3 player which uses a CF/SD/MiniSD/MicroSD (depending on the version) compatible cartridge in the GBA slot combined with a PassMe-type card in the DS slot to load GBA/DS roms (as well as movies and music) - you'd need a card reader to get the files on to the SD/CF card though. That said, apparantly it's not quite as good for homebrew compatibility and playing ROMs of commercial games you don't own is just plain wrong - Just Say No! You can get them from www.gamefreax.de but don't hold your breath as delivery times on this device are measured on glacial scales due to supply issues and their customer service makes Thai narcotics sentencing seem fair, friendly and responsive to your inquiries.

Yes it can be done. I have it set up and use it for homebrew apps. In theory you can play ROMS on it. But if that is the case you should only do so if you own the original game.

Well, If you must have a slot 1 card and you already have a microsd, maybe this: R4. Its pretty much Identical to the M3 simply in every way but its cheaper ;).
