Recomendations: Battery powered amps

Over the summer I'd like to take my guitar on the road and maybe play some tunes on some street corners. I play acoustic but my style is more fingerpicking/lead runs than strum-the-crap-out-of-it... I'd like to get me a decent small battery powered amp. I've seen buskers using these...

What would be a good one to get? One that hopefully dosn't sound tinny and electronic, while giving plenty of endurance! I friend of mine has a Roland micro cube, which has some very exciting features I'll probably never use...

    Roland Microcube!

Cannot say enough good things about this little amp, sounds fantastic. For the price they go for online, I wouldn't worry about not using all the features.

What's the endurance on the batteries like on it?

About 24 hours on fresh batteries.

Microcube. It's like a normal good amp but smaller.

I bought my nephew the little vox cube I cant remember its product code(da-6 i think). But it is the business its a bit more expensive than the Microcube (the VOX is 159e in 'perfect pitch' Exchequer st) but it has a beautiful sound, lots of nice presets and effects to.

That's fairly awesome... I must say I was pretty amazed to see all the stuff on it, even if I'll never use it much... and it sounds awesome (with an electric guitar anyway). Might bring my acoustic into the shop and see what it sounds like through it...

You are talking about the DA5, I'd guess. It looks to me like they are very definitely competing with the Microcube feature for feature. The DA5 has a slightly larger speaker, uses larger batteries, seems to have a few more "features". Both seem to get good reviews.

I've no experience with the Micro Cube: they may well be pretty good. But while you're trying them out, also have a go through a classic Pignose. I love mine...
