incoming calls going straight to voicemail

    My VOIP setup:

NTL cable modem (2Mb) > Grandstream Handytone 486 > PC
    > DECT phone

I've used this setup with blueface for the last few months, and it's been working great, ported my number over and got rid of Eircom - happy days :)

However, recently all my incoming calls have been going straight to voicemail. I have contacted blueface about this and they have checked that the SIP account is setup correctly. Also, all outgoing calls are working fine.

What I have noticed is that immediately after I reboot the HandyTone, if I make an incoming call very quickly, the call completes. However, every subsequent attempt goes straight to voicemail.

This has only started occurring in the last week or two. Previously, it has been working fine for the last 9 months.

Any ideas on how to configure my HandyTone so that incoming calls are completed? Do I need to setup a static IP address/ port forwarding? Should I upgrade the firmware? Should I invest in a different ATA (blueface didnt provide the HandyTone, I sourced one myself)??

Any ideas on this would be appreciated....

Tha's also been happening to me and two friends of mine with Blueface. I personally found that when you lifted the receiver you got a quick beep beep sound. Hang up again and it got rid of it. It varies from week to week. But it hasn't happened for a few days now.:D

    Hi there,

I'm having the same issue. I'm using a Linksys WRT54G2P router and an analog phone with NTL 3MBit. I just ported over my phone no from Eircom and I thought it was releated. I'll get on to their support in the morning.

In the end, I did a firmware upgrade of the Grandstream Handytone 486 and that sorted out the problem. I was a bit nervous about it because blueface support suggested it as a last resort only.

But after a restart of both the Handytone and the BB modem, everything was back working again.....
