Personally I would go for either Sony or Panasonic, if you can get one with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 you will have the best HD experiance possible with full 1080p.

I have a Sony Bravia V series (KDL32V2000) ... Absolutely gorgeous. Great reviews for this tv. 360 looks amazing on it. More importantly so does everything else including SD which is a must if you're buying a HD tv. Komplett.ie are doing it for €1,449 compared to Sony shops' €1,799. Sexy looking thing too. See here for a very comprehensive review which includes the line "this is honestly the most impressive LCD TV I've ever seen in terms of picture quality".

I bought a 37" Panasonic plasma last week. Did a HOOOOOGE amount of research and the Panny was a pretty clear winner for what I wanted.

Don't komplett charge some crazy prices for shipping? e.g. 300+ for shipping?

I would recommend a pannasonic too.. Prob better off asking in the home entertainment forum or try www.avforums.co.uk you'll get better replies

My Panasonic is about 2 1/2-3yrs old so by plasma accounts its old tech but the pic quality on it still smash's any of the new low to med end plasmas i've seen on sale.. A mate got a 42" Samsung a few months ago n even on that the pic quality aint as good as my panny..

    it's this one:

I'd have loved a 42" but it wouldn't fit into the corner I needed it to.
As said, avforums is a brilliant place for info and research. Though if you're looking for plasma they'll almost all go for a Panasonic or Pioneer (which tend to be more expensive).
Of course you might prefer an LCD picture, that's a pretty subjective decision, for me it was Plasma all the way.
