Hi, I bought a dell c521 last thurdsay on the dell outlet site. I got a temporary web order reference number also it states You will receive a second confirmation by post after your order has been processed (typically within 3-4 days of submitting your order). This will include your Dell order number, customer number, purchase order number, final total price and estimated delivery date.

First off is this the normal procedure as I have never bought off Dell before and secondly whats the chance of this being delivered by xmas?

I rang Dell this morning but the guy I was talking to could not find this on his system with the temp order number and said he would email the outlet store to ring me.

    Thanks in advance

Some one on the laptop forum had the same complaint last week ordering through ebay though, I ordered wednesday and received the order number wed night, due to be delivered this wednesday fingers crossed. The delivery time seems to be 7-10 days, this seems to be buying from dell site or outlet, the dell site terms and conditions says delivery can be up to 30 days from order, and if it's longer they'll contact you  . I can understand the long delivery times on custom builds but you'd think outlet machines would be ready to go

Thanks for the reply, just got a call from dell who said the order is in process at the moment but she could not guarantee if it would be received in time for christmas. Im happy enough though as I was concerned the order hadnt gone through.

On a different note if I want to upgrade the graphics or ram etc and I open the case does this mean my warranty is void?
