Can't think of a Glastonbury-like festivals on the West Coast at that time... most bands are over in Europe doing ****** and the like.

Though there is generally a decent selection of touring packages to choose from throughout the summer in the US/Canada.

I know it's not west coast, but if you felt like travelling I hear Chicago is AMAZING! http://www.lollapalooza.com/ Plus I'd say this is the sorta festival you're looking for.

I went to the Vans Warped Tour in Vancouver a few years ago. It'll be in July in Thunderbird Stadium on campus at UBC. You should get a few decent bands there, although Glastonbury-size bands are unlikely.

Also, Lollapalooza comes to Seattle, which is very accessible from Vancouver provided you have necessary papers to get into the US.

Lollapalooza is no longer a touring event, for the forseeable future at least. It's now a one-off festival held in Chicago every summer.
