Unpaid Item dispute

bought this dvd off ebay by mistake

told the buyer about it but he never responded to me

i bought it off him on the 4 of the december that very same day i told him it was a mistake

but he only got back to me today [sunday]and issued a Unpaid Item dispute

i told him then ill pay for listing fees but im unable to buy the dvd,i cant afford it

no word yet from him

what can i do

nothing... you will have to take the bad feedback or buy the item...

He'll have to recover the funds from you and if not, I don't know. Maybe eBay might suspend your account or something, never in that situation before.

You've nothing to worry about. You'll be issued an unpaid item strike, docked a point with the negative feedback and that's about it. Happened me. I was ordering a mixer and the seller had the Shipping price amended during the sale (was 30, changed to 130!)

In fairness mistakes happen, you were more than willing to pay for any losses incurred by the seller. Chances are the seller is a large company selling loads of items on Ebay and they never saw your mail, a lot of them use automated responses.

If it still worries you contact Ebay, they've excellent customer service. It happens all the time

You will get an unpaid item strike from ebay. Nothing to worry about if this is an isolated mistake. 3 (I think) unpaid strikes and ebay will kick you off their site.

I have just filed one for some numpty who bid, has never contacted me and has not paid.

If both you and the seller agree not to continue with the sale, he gets his fees back from ebay you dont get a strike against you and you can both even leave positive feedback. So is your seller grumpy or willing to do this?
