My PSU fan is gone really noisy so I bought this one

    http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.asp?sku=309565

It got some great reviews and I thought it would be really simple to install even for me,well I was wrong.I took out my old PSU and put the new one in.I took my time doing it to make sure I had everything connected properly.I turned on the PSU and nothing. There is a power switch on the back of the PSU which lights up when you flick the switch so there is power going to the PSU and I guess it's working fine.I know its a very vague question but would anyone have any idea where I went wrong. What mistake could I have made for nothing to happen when I turned on the PC,no doubt it's something really simple and stupid.Probably wont get a chance to try it again till over Xmas but just want to know if it could be simple.Let me know if any more info is needed to maybe help. Thanks in advance.

I have this psu in a older machine. Its a absolute bastard of a thing. Since its modular, make sure the correct cabled are plugged into the correct porn on the psu. And make sure they are screwed in tightly. Also makesure the 20/24 atx pin is connected to the mobo correctly.

Thanks Anti for the help.Since you have this PSU and if you dont mind can I ask you a few things?
It does seem a bitch to fit and tighten all the connectors so I might screw all of them on before I fit it this time.On the 20/24 pin there was an adapter from my old PSU,I just plugged this adapter connector on the PSU as the Psu one wouldnt fit,to small as far as I remember,I have a Asus A8N-Sli premium board. Also on the 20/24 cable there is the 4 pin connector to go to the Mobo too but this doesnt reach, there is another one supplied that I can plug in,is this correct and just dont connect the other one to anything

    porn on the psu lol

does the psu not come with a 24 connection (maybe the 20 pins plus a seperate 4 pin connector) that will fit the motherboard so as not to use the adapter from your old psu

sounds like an issue with the 20/24 pin connection and 4 pin connection

also if your graphics card has a power supply connection, does plugging it out allow the machine to start?

The penny just dropped when I typed it,had a look at it and discovered thats where I was going wrong.Reckon so anyway. So I'll get rid of the adapter and plug both connections into the mobo. Thanks for the help .

Yeah its normal the 24pin wont reach if the 4pin is more then a inch away, just use the seperate one that came with the cables, and dont plug the other in. As if the contact is not made there will be no power running through it.

And i meant port, not porn :p
