    Hey all,

I've been in Sydney for a month and now have to decide on a place to be for NYE (left it kinda late) - any help from those of you who experienced it here? The two main criteria are: (a) view of the fireworks and (b) quality of party/women. Please let me know what you think.

Also, after doing the beachs, Manly, the Zoo and the Blue Mountains, what other touristy things are left to do in and around Sydney? Day / weekend trips, etc.

    Thanks :)

Have you climbed the bridge? Done the skywalk? Did you go on the Lithgow railway? Have you been to the Hunter Valley? Had a picnic in the Botanital Gardens?

As for new years, well if you want to go to the harbour to see the fireworks make sure you get in early.
No idea where you should go to party - depends what kind of music you like I guess.

usually 2 fireworks shows, one at 9pm for families and kids, and the proper one at 12pm. The field behind the Opera House actually empties out after the first fireworks display, so just bail in there at about 10pm for your free ringside seat!

For the full effect, head down to Vauclause -super views, a bit distant, but no pressure on being there early!
