    FIVE separate Toll Collection regieme`s.
    All to facilitate TWO companies (Well in reality it`s only One).

    Not to mention the different Electronic Collection methodologies employed at these sites.
    The entire essence of this shaggin nonsense is to facilitate administration for it`s own sake.
    To ensure that the NRA and Central Administration requires several HEO`s and below to monitor and administer EACH site.

    Liam Lawlor may well be dead and gone but the ethos of bare faced cheek which he came to personify has become firmly embedded in Irish Public Administration.

    Why for example can a hugely cash rich company such as NTR be even considered for an increase in Toll rates,unless of course it`s to facilitate it`s already hugely impressive financial gearing on the Stock Market.

    We live in a country administered by a bunch of velvet voiced half cocked Crooks who emboldened by an electorate suffering from mass alcohol induced dementia contiunue to put an X beside the same names each and every election......

    No AlexSmart - we use the PR STV system which requires the electorate to place a number beside the candidate of their choice. ;)

    Etrip.ie is the company that will run the elctronic tolls at the Port Tunnel. Their electronic tags can be used for Port Tunnel and

    • M8 Rathcormac/Fermoy Bypass
    • M1 Dublin - Belfast
    • M4 Kilcock-Enfield-Kinnegad Motorway

    That means that there are now 2 separate systems: NTR's Eazy Pass and the ETrip system. Furthermore, the etrip system will be interoperable with all new Irish toll systems.

    The company behind etrip are also part of a consortium bidding for the M50 free-flow contract.
