CD to DVD Conversion?

Apologies if I've put this in the wrong forum - I'm not exactly sure which forum it belongs to so [admins] please feel free to move if you need to.

Here's the score. I've got a mate who asked me to transfer the contents of a CD to a DVD. Basically the CD only contains one program (a .exe file) which thus far he has been using off his laptop. The program runs and generates a repeating spiral image on the screen (it's part of some hypnotherapy thingy or something).

He's asked me if it's possible to get this to run off his DVD player/TV setup instead because he want's to keep his laptop free during his sessions with clients.

I know burning a DVD with the data won't be good enough by default; I'm also guessing that an .exe won't just run on a DVD player by default so is there any cute software out there or have you any advice on how I can get this thing from it's current CD to a DVD format which will play on a DVD player?

You'd be looking at taking an video (probably mpeg) capture of the screen and turning that into a normal dvd. There is software out there to do both of those things though I'm not familiar with it / them.

I'm sure someone else can suggest alternative / better ways.

If he has a notebook with a VGA out it might be worth considering getting a monitor for a multi display setup, he can then run the program and output it to the second display while keeping his notebooks LCD display for normal usage.

Also if you have a pc or notebook with s-video output, you could connect it to a dvd recorder and try to capture get it to dvd that way

Use the SVGA output or buy a second notebook or do as Khannie suggests. - set the video resolution to 640x480 or resize the window you are recording from.
