Although Jazz Messenger has bits and pieces of form on softish ground it's clearly not what he'd prefer and his last effort over the jumps when a well beaten 2/5 fav on soft ground must make him opposable tomorrow. I think the one that could beat him is the improving son of oscar. Just about everyone in Waterford backed this one last Sunday and connections are hopeful again tomorrow. He's an improving, unexposed horse and I think with a vulnerable FAV he may be the value.

Son of Oscar NR. Watch for him next time. Jazz Messenger now 4/7. I wouldn't have stolen money on but at this stage there's not much in the race to beat him.

Powerstation for me (what a surprise eh?). I'll definitely be keeping an eye on son of oscar from now on. Good win last time out. Don't burn that source just yet! :) Jack the Hough is running in Navan today as well along with News Item and Farmer Grant all in the same race. I'm in no state to do a write up but I'll be dutching those three.

    2:15 Lady Sagamix

A tip from the owner. Apparently the trainer thinks it will win and the stable's money is on.

Aye, they probaby knew they had the favourite's measure but Eagle's Pass looked the winner a bit out. The jump at the last just sealed Lady's fate.

Interesting that there's been money for Usnoozeulose in the 3:15. He's had four non-tries since finishing 2nd a couple of months ago. I know connections were very disappointed he didn't win that one and that they'd be trying to win again with him sometime. He was entered in three different races this weekend and this looked to be the easiest option. Handicap rating has gradually been slipped. It all looks set to me.

Sorry for the lateness of that post but he finished 2nd again anyway. SP of 14/1, generally 25/1 earlier. Unfortunate that he ran into a good thing who won easily. I imagine there'll be no christmas pudding in some of the connections' houses next week.

I backed that "good thing" during the week when he finished 2nd at 10-1. It looked like he was out for the win that day but, after being held up on heavy ground, just failed to get up. When I saw him entered today I thought it might be too much for the horse in this ground but fair play to it and connections...they got their win.
