The year is nearly over. Where have you gone to this year?

I have travelled a bit this year. Little bit more than normal.

Was in England three times over the year through work, got the plane to London once and then had to drive to Sheffield the other times. About 4 weeks in total spent in England

    Rest of trips were:
Dublin - Amsterdam - Singapore - Sydney (return)

Dublin - London - Hong Kong - Auckland (returning some time next year)

Next week I this to look forward to:
Auckland - Melbourne - Perth - Sydney - Auckland (xmas in Perth)

Next year I possibly could be going back to America for a few months to work.
Take my return flights to Dublin from Auckland, spend a few days at home with the family and leave from Shannon for Boston and then travel down to Cape Cod.

After all that, I will come back to Ireland next winter. Start looking for work again and try to save up (again) to buy a house.

mikedragon32, do you work, or is all the travelling part of work?

I got a cheap trip to pluto last November. They trips were discounted because nobody wanted to visit it while it was being downgraded "not a planet" :D

I have been to the USA, Germany, Holland, Sweden.
Next year is undecided as the above are all week notice trips. And I'm only a salesman, no BMW here:(

At least work is paying for it, can't be too bad then.

Some of it is work, most leisure.

I work flexi-time so can work up time and then take it when I like, plus a nice amount of annual leave makes for plenty of trips.

    Don't really have the money to be getting away regularly, but I did manage the old student favourite Interrail over the summer, did;

    Dublin - Paris - Caen - Bayeux - Chartres - Blois - Lyon - Marseille - Monaco - Ventimiglia - Genoa - Pisa - Florence - Venice - Siena - Naples - Rome - Dublin

Next year I hope to hit the States over the summer, as to where exactly, i have no idea as of yet!

Well 12 of those were work trips and the other 6 were holidays. I managed to add on some time to a few of the work trips though to have a few more mini-holidays.

To be honest, all the travel got tiring towards the end of the year. I'm going to home for Christmas, and then hopefully won't be budging for the month of January :)

Some travelling around Ireland too but nothing major.

Next year have already booked trip to Riga for 6 days at Easter and then hoping to spend 2/3 months as far away as possible (maybe NZ) before starting a real job :D

I know a guy in his 50s that does not have a passport and has never even been to the UK. Can't drive either. I find it weird.

I used to work in the concert/event scene in Ireland and England.
Worked long hours with little time off.

Had enough of that life by the summer time. Couldn't leave due to work commitments until at least the Ryder Cup was over. Handed in my notice (to my dad) at the start of oct and left for New Zealand a couple of weeks later.

I'm here on a working holiday visa. Will look for work when I come back from Australia in the new year.

Then possibly America to look forward to sometime in the early/middle part of next year.

I didn't get away once this year, only a few little breaks around Ireland.

Next year/2007 I'll be either going to Italy in March for a snowboarding holiday, or New Zealand in June.

Will also probably go to Amsterdam at some point and theres talk of a holiday to Paris at some stage which would be sweet.

Really want to get a few breaks abroad in the coming year.
