How I got a wii...for free!

A friend of mine was going away for a few days on vacation, he would be away the day of the wii launch. He gave me his smyths receipt etc. as he had pre-booked ages ago and wanted me to collect the wii for him on launch day. I went to the smyths branch after work on the friday. Separate to this, I had been dropping hints to my girlfriend for weeks that I wanted a wii for Christmas!!! Anyway, when I collected his I asked the smyths clerk would he mind checking if another name was on the list for collection, I told him my girlfriends name and he said "yep, thats ready to go, do you want to take it". I couldn't believe it, I told him no, its a Christmas present that I shouldn't know about and the poor guy nearly had a heart attack, he was gutted that he let the cat out of the bag.
Next day she was out getting her hair done, she came back and ran up the stairs with a few bags, I just grinned to myself and thought "their goes my wii". Later I checked the wardrobe, under a coat was a wii with a copy of Zelda to boot! I just have to wait until christmas morning and act all surprised.

Pretty obvious really, I pay nothing....and get a wii. I assume money was involved in the transaction between herself and Smyths but as I was not involved I cannot comment. So yeah, free wii for me. happy days!

Bit of a scummy thing to do really. I kinda did the same thing once (my girlfriend left her email logged on and I saw what she was getting me last year) but not intentionally. For her sake, act surprised and don't do it again. My girl loves surprising me. Let her have her fun.
