Light actually come on?

Mine only ever comes on for a second when I turn the console on

Comes on when you turn it on, put a game in, and when you get a message.
If you want your light to stay on, send yourself a message from your e-mail address and don't open it.Your light should stay on all the time.:D

The only time it stays on is when you get message but dont read. Send a message to your Wii using your email, dont open it and it will stay on until you do.

Mine does for half a second when you put the disc in then goes off again.
Just do the e-mail thing if you want it to stay on.

it will also come on when you download something from wiiconnect - and turn off when the download is finished

Afaik mine comes on when turning power on and when putting a game in. tbh I'm glad it doesnt stay on all the time. It looks good but I think its occasional appearance is better than a permanent display

I just wish it would work the way my Philips DVD burner drive works.
When no disc is in the slot underneath is off.When it's reading something it's neon blue, when burning it's red.And it has to indicator lights on each side that light up when it's reading either a CD or a DVD.

I think they should have went with a "light stays on while reading a disc" approach.

Mine doesnt stay lit when I have an unread message. It does until I turn my Wii on, but it goes off then and doesnt come back after I turn it on without reading the message!

Oh it counts!!!
I take an unusual amount of time to reply. Im not a slow typer i always get sidetracked and when i finally get around to posting the message somebody has beaten me to it. its happened a few times.
