Getting New Box from Sky Free

I currently subscribe to Sky + with 3 Sports channels and have been Sky subscriber for a long time before going to Sky +.
I purchased the Sky + box myself about 3 years ago.(from dealer, not Sky).
The box has now failed (dealer says faulty power supply).
Is there any way I can get a free replacement Sky + box from Sky.
I thought I read in forums if one phones and you explain you wish to cancel Sky subscription because of fauly hardware they will offer a free replacement.
Is this correct and will they want to charge again for installation. ???
    Thanks

Install consists of plugging it in.

They may or may not. You need to be serious about cancelling. They may insist on Phone line or minimum period. Ring and be serious about cancelling.

There is no "entitlement" to a replacement box. But quite often they do offer a replacement. It might not be new. If it has a smaller disk you can easily use the disk from your old one.

My sky+ (which i purchased myself) failed earlier this year. I rang sjy about it and they sent someone out to have a look at it. He replaced the box after looking at it with what i assume was a refurnished box. Cant remember what the charge was right now but it was pretty cheap. May even have been free but ot sure.

That is subject to terms and conditions, which should be read beforehand. Son will probably need to install Sky+ for a minimum term, possibly 12 months.

I have sky+. Using my old box as a multi-room subscription.

That old box failed this week. Rang Sky last night to see what the deal was.

    They gave me three options.

Have an engineer call out to look at the problem. Would cost me €100 just for the call out and then would have to pay for parts on top of that.

Get a replacement box (new standard one) for €150 PLUS installation fee.

Or, get another Sky+ box for the same price as the standard one.

Am going to try find an agent that is selling them cheaper than sky or else just ring and cancel the multiroom sub. Sorry Sky, I don't really need a second Sky+ box

Cancel the multiroom and buy a 60 Euro Free to Air box. 70 radio and 45+ decent TV channels out of 200+ FTA.
