Xmas Help! iPod vs Creative Zen Vision

Bit of a problem here folks, your knowledge is required. Herself has indicated she would like an Mp3 player for Christmas and Im considering the two above options. She has placed an emphasis on speakers and a system that can play/stream music all over the house(this is the clincher) similar to Philips Streamium system only without the heart attacks associated with the price!

Regarding iPods, is copying mp3s from a PC to the device via iTunes that much hassle? Personally I would prefer the USB option like the Zen has. (but then its not for me! ) Also, are speaker Dock systems universal or are spcific ones manufactured for each device?

Given the date, I really need to get going on this. Any advice, stories or links greatly appreciated.

    Cheers!

Myself, once I get my 80GB Archos (its been bought, but I won't get it till xmas), I'm gonna get a FM Radio Transmitter in CQ Communications for €50. This will transmit to any nearby radio. Dunno about range, but I'm looking forward to hi-jacking the "bath-radio" with Slayer on the weekends:cool:
