Ireland to host 2011 Solheim Cup

    Just heard on the radio that Ireland will play host to the solheim cup in 2011. This is the womens equivalent of the ryder cup; USA versus Europe.

    This is a great chance for womens golf to shine in Ireland.

    but it's at a venue yet untested or even played on!

    Must be some track to get the go ahead - what's the infrastructure like around it?

    Wonder will us men support it and want to go to it as much as the women wanted to go to the RC?

    Most of the course is built afaik.. its just off the main N3 road to dublin.

    It does have 5 years til the event!
