PLO Aces question

    Two different scenarios:
Blinds 1/3 with live straddle (Live straddle is optional so it's not always implemented)

Let's assume it was limped for 3 and in both cases you've raised to 15 with 4/5 callers making the pot now 60/75ish.

You're table image is loose aggressive and other players don't usually put you on a hand when you've raised pre flop.

Lets also assume that relevant stacks are at min €700 and you're sitting with €1K.

I'm interested in how's best to play the hands on the flop rather than preflop (no need for preflop remarks).

    Scenario 1.
4 or 5 people see the flop

    Me Ah Ad 6h 7d

    Flop Ac 9h 5h

What's our plan for the way we play the rest of this hand
    a) from under the gun
    b) from the button

    Scenario 2.
4 or 5 people see the flop

    Me Ah Ad 6h 7d

    Flop Ac Kh Qh

    Same questions

What's our plan for the way we play the rest of this hand
    a) from under the gun
    b) from the button

    Tks :)

The preflop action matters a lot, it will affect what hands people think you have. Also you can't have a live straddle, a raise, and 4 or 5 callers and the pot still under €50 playing €1-€3.

But aside from the nitpicking, generally the plan for the flop is to shovel a lot of money into the pot, usually by betting or raising when the action comes to you.

Get as much money in as you can as quick as you can.

Yeah what roundtower said, also in hand 2 we are a favourite vs the naked straight so you would like to get it in on the flop against that sort of holding. If he has anything else, then you have his hand crushed so this is really an excellent flop for your hand.

(I've gone back edited my original question giving more detail - here it is repeated)

Live straddle is optional so it's not always implemented. (Irrelevant anyways)

Is the best line now to get as much money in on both flops as possible?
Surely in the 2nd scenario if you're up against the made straight it wouldn't be best to get €700 in on the flop?

Ship it in there as quick as is humanly possible in both.

In hand 2 I think you are about a 65% fave to win the pot vs a naked straight so you should be dying to get it in here.
With your image, you should be looking to ship as much $ in on the flop as possible.

In the first scenario isn't there a case for slowplaying the flop - especially if you are UTG?

In the 2nd is it the right play to stick 1K in even though you're behind - even if you're a 3/2 favourite? At the end of the day you're still going to loose 40% of the time. Can't more favourable positions be found to stick 1K in?

Have you ever heard of EV? If you were playing holdem, someone showed you 56s and you had AKs would you fold when he went all-in preflop because you're still going to lose 40% of the time? If your worried about putting money in as a 60-40 favourite then you should play smaller stakes.

Hand 1 can be slowplayed, but with your image I'd definitely bet between half and full pot.

I'm not saying one way is better than another - I am just looking for opinions and comments to both sides of the arguement. (In texas I hate AK and always loose with it, LOL)

No need to slowplay these sort of hands without specific reads. I would be over the moon to get 1k in in either of these pots. You will find it hard to get it in in better spots in omaha.

Oh and one way is much better than the other. Getting your money in as a large favourite is better than not getting you money in at all, which will happen a lot if you try slowplay these hands.
