SAP has contains all our stock units.
I will asked to convert stock from one version to another before I send it out for repair.
    E.G. X-Fan unit to become X-Fan-G unit.
Does anyone have written steps I can follow to successfully complete a Conversion?

Really need need to learn how to do this! (Fast)

    Hi Coug01,
Thanks for replying, as I really need the help...
We use SAP to hold all our stock worldwide, selling it, bring it back for repair etc.
By a SAP unit conversion, I mean, e.g.
if we are short a certain amount of a particular unit of stock, you can do a conversion on SAP, but using a similiar stock and converting the name to the units you need.
So basically, its changing the name on the SAP system, and then sending it for repair as the the name of unit you have change it to, so when it reurns it will be receive on the system as the stock as needed.
I don't eve think it takes longs to do on SAP, but i have no notes and need to learn it ASAP, as I will be asked to do it at the last minute.
Another e.g. is a unit named 7C107-1 and I would need to change the name on SAP to 7C107-1-G for a 100 units.
    Hope I explained it clearly.
    Thanks a million. :)

    What a useless post.

I suggest you ask your employer for some SAP training. This is the most logical way.

This may help before you send out the part you could do a
Material to material stock transfer so product X becomes first Y then goes out for whatever reason and comes back and is booked in as Y the part you want.

In order to do this Y must exist on SAP as material.

To do this you need to use transaction MB1B (Stock transfer)
(413 E movement types…. your company may use different movement types to 413 E but the transfer posting is always MB1B)
Simply transfer 1 Material into another should take 30 seconds or less
