I reckon so, whats the story with all the bad weather lately? Its blowin me and my dullsville all over the shop!

Does anyone find having a top box and/or high windshield makes you more prone to the horrors of the wind? :(

Yeah, definitally loose the box dude. Great in the rain, big fairings just act as sails in the wind. Nothing you can do about it but be ready for the bikes movements and know to call it quits or not go out in the first place if the wind is too much for you/your machine.

Well said Faceman..I was thinking the same thing there.

I've been riding bikes since 2003..and I swear to God..this is the worst winter so far for me.
I went on hols in aug/sept....and i have not seen one dry piece of asphalt since i came home.

and on top of that...last weeks winds caused 475 euro worth of damage to my sally-anne. I came outside one day....and she wasn't lying on her side...
she was ****in upside down man.
throttle cables ripped to shreds...indicators all wonky...big dent in the tank from the handlebars pressing down on it...etc etc

    Woe are we!

    **BUMP**

Looking back on this thread, things haven't changed much eh!! I've been riding for almost a year and began riding at the end of winter. Best time to start really coz you really are dumped in the deep end and learn very quickly!!

Anyways, you guys have been saying that this winter has been the worst??? I've found it very windy and didn't like the fact that the bike was being thrown from one side of the road to the other. Now I just stay at home, but will NOT get the bus...no way in hell!!! I'd rather face the high winds!! :)

Winter hasn't started yet! This has been the mildest winter in ages. Wait until the cold weather starts!
(Although that greasy muck on the roads is a biatch to ride on)...

Wind has little or no effect on my Bandit N... I guess top boxes and windshields are handy but they seem to have some big drawbacks...

i was only saying to someone yesterday that i reckoned this has been the easiest winter i've encountered in the last few years of riding albeit i'm on a habana 50 custom(stop sniggering;) ). wind has been bad alright but its the icy roads i dread, would take windy days over icy mornings anyday. roads have been very greasy lately though, have had a few wobbles around roundabout city in lucan.

It's been Mild compared to last year but has been windy and wet. Roads seem to be permantly damp. I haven't even used the winter gloves yet. With ice you have to be careful and if you're on back roads I'd think twice.

    Indeed you are all correct...
the coldest time of the year is almost upon us now...

But to be honest..the cold never bothered me. Neither did the wind..as i drive a heavy enough bike.

Its the ****in moisture. The damp balls on ya when stepping off the bike.

This year is definitely the worst so far for me..due to the rain.

I have considered getting a full leather suit....but when you drive the bike all the time....that seems a bit far fetched.
    Any recommendations??

Don't worry about the ice people...i shat myself too.
Ice is nothing to worry about.
Just make sure your tyres are up to scratch....and don't be a speed freak.

But ice mixed with rain mixed with builder juice.....thats another story..
