*** Apologies if this is in wrong section ***

    Hello People,

I was wondering if it was possible (and if so, how and what do I need?!) to view my laptop screen on my TV? Preferably bigger of course, that's the whole point.

I watch horse racing online using Windows Media Player and this is particularly what I had in mind if that makes a difference. My laptop os a TOSHIBA model.

    Thanks!

The manual will probably tell you how

If the laptop has s-video output, a s-video lead into a s-video scart adapter is probably the way to do it. If the tv has vga input a vga lead will do. Some laptops might need a particular type of s-video lead/adapter

Also prepare for some annoying playing around with your graphics card settings. Google will provide the answers you need, or it did for me anyway.

Thanks people... Does anyone know of a slightly more affordable version of the product Mal has linked to?

This one any use for example? Would prefer to buy it in the high street though rather than online...

These two wireless devices are useless unless you have s-video out on the laptop.

Can you confirm if you have an s-video out port (also called tv-out)?

If you have, you can plug directly into the TV, so no need for the above. :)

Is that a port that says 'TV Out' on it? Or what should I look for? (sorry - techno spaz!)
